ChemSpec is a specialty and commodity chemical distributor that sales its products across North America, and is a subsidiary of Paris-based specialty chemical distributor, Safic-Alcan Group.
It has two divisions: Performance Products Division, which supports the C.A.S.E. industrial manufacturing sector, and Cosmetic Ingredients Division.
A new subsidiary has been announced last August that will support the Mexican industrial manufacturing sector.
ChemSpec México will be based out of Mexico City, and will provide sales and technical support to the elastomer compounding company, such as tire and technical rubber production, while also supporting the other Mexican «C.A.S.E.» (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, Elastomer, and Plastics) market segments.
More specifically the new segment will offer a wide selection of specialty and commodity chemical additives and specialty polymers.
The President Dave Moreland suggested that this program will develop and support the business across the NAFTA region, following market trends while meeting the customers’ needs successfully.
The first employee of the new division will be the Sales & Marketing Manager, Manuel Cortés, a Chemical Engineer that has been working on polymer testing, production, and sales for over twenty years and then as a vendor to the rubber and plastic manufacturing market.
