Last August RPC Group has announced the acquisition of British Polythene Industries PLC (BPI). BPI is a leading manufacturer and supplier of polythene films for different markets like agriculture and horticulture, constructions, industrial, healthcare, personal care, waste services, and retail food and non-food. The company hire almost 2,000 employees and its 19 manufacturing facilities are located in the UK, Europe and in North America. BPI is specialized in new products development but is also committed to recycling waste polythene films: thanks to these particular skills BPI has acquired a very good reputation. Innovation, expertise and many customers from many different market sectors and geographical regions were some of the reasons why RPC insisted on purchasing BPI: to combine knowledge and expertise and confirm its strength around different end-markets. The aim of the merger is to confirm the market position as one of the world’s leading plastics design and engineering companies, and establish a new growth platform, offering a wide range of innovative products to meet a large number of customers. The new groups can be described by very huge numbers: 20,000 employees, 140 operating sites and 29 different countries.
